Successful Taste Mid Ulster Market Takes over Fivemiletown!

Food lovers from across the region enjoyed a packed day of local flavours, live cookery demonstrations and family entertainment at the popular Taste Mid Ulster Market, which took place in Fivemiletown on Saturday past, 20 June from 11am – 6pm.

Celebrating the very best of Mid Ulster’s thriving food and drink sector, the event featured a vibrant artisan market with more than 25 local traders showcasing high-quality produce, sweet treats, baked goods, drinks and street food.

A major highlight of the day was the live cookery demonstration marquee featuring renowned local cook Bronagh Duffin of BakeHouse NI Cookery School, followed by award winning chef, Great British Menu finalist and proud Northern Ireland food ambassador, Stevie McCarry.

During the day attendees also got closer to nature with Wild Walk Bushcraft delivering foraging walks around the lake.

The event also featured arts and craft sessions, live music from local musicians, children’s entertainment, face painting and a lively festival atmosphere, which made it the perfect family day out.

Chair of the Council, Councillor Deirdre Varsani attended the event and sampled some of the delicious produce and products on offer. She also met and chatted with stallholders as well as visitors who attended the market.

Taste Mid Ulster continues to shine a spotlight on the region’s exceptional food heritage, supporting local producers and giving visitors the opportunity to meet the people behind some of Mid Ulster’s finest food and drink businesses.
