Mid Ulster LMP launches Employability Programme
The Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership (LMP) has launched its Employability Programme.
Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.
The Mid Ulster LMP Employability Programme is a FREE innovative programme tailored to those who are furthest removed from the labour market, whilst also meeting local industry needs for skilled labour within Mid Ulster.
Support will be given on a bespoke individual basis to successful applicants to maximise employment outcomes and match job roles available. Participants will benefit from one-to-one mentoring, personal employability development plans, CV writing & mock interviews, group workshops and get to choose from a wide variety of accredited courses, depending on personal need and requirements for employment opportunity. On completion of the programmes, applicants are guaranteed an interview and can avail of continued mentorship for six months after employment.
Courses on offer include: CSR Registration; Manual Handling; Working at Heights; Welding; Customer Service; Basic Food Hygiene; Barista Skills; Safeguarding; First Aid; ICT/Computer Skills; Community Translating/Interpreting; Coaching and Mentoring; Warehousing; Health and Safety; COSHH; Food Allergy Awareness; Paediatric First Aid; Counselling; Abrasive wheels; Forklift Training; Digger Driver; Telehandler Driver; Digital Marketing; Payroll and Bookkeeping.
Welcoming the return of the Employability Programme, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Deirdre Varsani, said:
The Mid Ulster Labour Market Partnership Employability Programme offers a fantastic opportunity for local people who face barriers to employment to develop new skills, build confidence and access meaningful job opportunities. Through tailored support, one-to-one mentoring and a wide range of accredited training, the programme will help individuals take positive steps towards employment, while also addressing the skills needs of local businesses and industry. I would encourage anyone who could benefit from this free programme to find out more. By investing in our people and connecting local talent with local opportunities, we can help build a stronger and more inclusive Mid Ulster economy.
