Food Safety

Environmental Health Officers will ensure food premises comply with food safety legislation and provide advice and information to those involved in the preparation, production and sale of food.

They also monitor the labelling, composition and marketing of food to ensure that it complies with trading standards legislation.

Staff will carry out routine surveillance of food premises to ensure the safe production and sale of food, reduce the possibility of foodborne illness and protect the consumer with regard to the composition and labelling of food.

Anyone with a complaint about food they have purchased or food premises they have visited in the Mid Ulster District should contact: Environmental Health service on 03000 132 132
Email: environmentalhealth@midulstercouncil.org
