Dog Licences

Our online dog licensing service is provided through Council Direct.

How to licence your dog

Licence Online
You need to register your details on the system to be able to log in to the dog licensing service.

> Call us on 03000 132 132
Pay for your licence (if you pay a fee) over the phone.

When you apply for your dog licence, you must also show that your dog has been microchipped.

Microchipping involves having an identification tag inserted painlessly into your dog, making the job of returning pets to their owners much easier should they stray or get lost.

The fees for different types of licence are:

Type of Licence

Free

Over 65 (first dog)

Over 65 (subsequent dogs)

Remember: even if you do not have to pay a fee for your licence, the law says you must still have a licence for your dog.
