PLATO MID ULSTER – A New Growth Opportunity for Mid Ulster Businesses

Mid Ulster businesses are invited to join a new Programme to help drive their business growth in an ever competitive market place with support from local entrepreneurs which will:

  • Enhance business performance and competitiveness
  • Increase your local and regional network base
  • Provide a monthly Forum for owners /managers to develop management skills; and,
  • Facilitate sharing of experiences and resources.

Membership fee: €300 per business (Programme is part-funded by Council)

PLATO consists of four Enterprise Offices and County Councils in Cavan, Louth, Meath and Monaghan and two Northern Ireland partners, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

The Skills Focus Programme Subsidised Training for Business

South West College can provide bespoke training for staff in your business leading to a recognised qualification. The Skills Focus Programme has been designed to increase the skill level of the existing workforce and covers 75% of the costs of training. 

South West College can work with you to design, build and deliver a tailored training plan with provision in a wide range of sectors including:

  • Engineering (Welding including coded, Autocad, Solidworks, Lean Manufacturing, Hydraulics);
  • Tourism & Hospitality (Supervising Food Safety, Customer Service, Wines & Spirits, Food Hygiene);
  • Health & Social Care (Childcare, Social Care);
  • Business and IT (Team Leading, Supervisor Training, Coaching & Mentoring; E-marketing, Microsoft);
  • Motor Vehicle (Accident Repair, Diagnostics);
  • Leisure (Fitness Instructing).

Funding is available to cover all accredited training courses at Level2 and above.

What could a £5,000 Innovation Voucher do for your business?

An Innovation Voucher provides funding to small and medium sized businesses to work with an expert Knowledge Provider from a University, College or other Public Sector Research Body bringing new knowledge to help businesses innovate, develop and grow.

InterTradeIreland’s ELEVATE PROGRAMME

If you are a micro business or know someone who is, then check out the support available through InterTradeIreland's Elevate programme. Aimed at companies with under 10 employees who want to grow their business by identifying new customers and markets - up to £5000 in consultancy support is now available.

InterTradeIreland is now actively looking for companies. The programme is 100% funded by InterTradeIreland and the application process is simple.

'Yes You Can' Pitching Competition

‘Yes You Can’ Pitching Competition Launched for Northern Ireland’s Businesswomen

The Yes You Can - £20K Pitching Competition is part of a three-year Female Enterprise Programme, set up through a collaboration between the eleven local councils of Northern Ireland, Invest NI and Women in Business.

The initiative provides an opportunity for female-owned businesses to make a pitch for a slice of a £20,000 prize pot.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Winners will be awarded prize money of £3,000. Each winner will be required to deliver their winning pitch at the Annual Female Entrepreneurs Conference in the spring. The best pitch on the day will go on to win a further £2,000.

Innovative, female-run companies in Northern Ireland with a defined USP are being encouraged to take part. Qualifying businesses can be pre-starts, start-ups or existing enterprises that are already trading and have plans for growth.
