Covid-19 Business Grants Scheme

The second round of the Mid Ulster Covid-19 Business Grants Scheme is now open.

The scheme provides an opportunity for commercial businesses to apply for a discretionary grant to adapt their premises to help provide a safe environment for their customers and staff.

Grants will fund up to 100% of eligible costs, from a minimum of £500 up to a maximum of £3,000 per business.

Funding of £429K has been awarded by the Department for Communities’ (DfC) Covid-19 Recovery Revitalisation Programme for town centres and by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) for smaller settlements, with a further £133K invested by Mid Ulster District Council, which is once again coordinating the grant scheme.

If your business was successful under Mid Ulster COVID-19 Business Grants Scheme Tranche 1 (that is, your business was awarded funding and you accepted a Letter of Offer) you will not be eligible to reapply in tranche 2.

UPDATE: Grant aid for rural based businesses is now fully committed.

PLEASE NOTE:
If your business is located in a rural area i.e. outside the urban boundaries of the main towns of Cookstown, Magherafelt, Coalisland and Dungannon please do not submit an application as it will not be assessed.

Applications are still being accepted for the time being from urban based businesses located within the urban boundaries of the main towns listed above.

If you are unsure whether your business is located rurally please email covidbusinessgrant@midulstercouncil.org giving the full postal address for your business (i.e. where your project will be located) and a member of staff will confirm with you.

Please read the Guidance Notes for tranche 2 of the scheme.

Please note:
Limited funds are available for this scheme and funding is allocated on a first come first served basis. We expect a high number of applications to the scheme and therefore dependent on the availability of funding, we reserve the right to close the scheme at very short notice. This means an applicant could submit an application, but that application may not proceed to have an eligibility check completed or receive funding if it is submitted before the scheme closes.

Should you have any queries please email covidbusinessgrant@midulstercouncil.org or call our office on 03000 132 132.
