Northern Ireland Investment Fund

The Department of Finance (DoF) have advised that a £30m Investment Fund is available to promote investment, economic growth and jobs across Northern Ireland.

The focus of the Fund is regeneration projects (including Grade A property), energy efficiency and low carbon projects. It seeks to fund viable local private sector projects with a minimum requirement of £2million that cannot obtain full funding from commercial sources, and provides finance on commercial terms to comply with EU State Aid rules.  It is expected that the Fund will play a significant role in supporting private sector investment in key areas of local development over the next decade.

To date some £70m has been released to the Fund with the balance of £30m to be released by 2021. These projects have so far been Belfast based and the DoF is very keen to ensure that private sector projects from across Northern Ireland are considered.
