Tourism and Hospitality Academy

The Tourism and Hospitality Academy will support 30 eligible individuals through a four-week bespoke training programme designed to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, experience, and confidence to begin a career with a Tourism and Hospitality business in the district.


Qualification Gained

Introduction to Customer Service in the Hospitality Industry: Level 2

Learners will understand the different characteristics of customer service skills in the hospitality industry and the importance of exceeding customer needs. Learners will be equipped with the skills needed to move into employment within the hospitality industry.

In addition to a formal qualification,  you will receive one-to-one mentoring support to develop employability skills and equip you to be “job ready”. You will also have a guaranteed interview with a local employer and ongoing support from your dedicated mentor for up to six months following employment.

Applicants should be:

  • Living in the Mid Ulster District Council area;

  • Of working age; and be unemployed/long term unemployed, under-employed or at risk of redundancy; or economically inactive for any reason (e.g. due to long term ill-health or disability, caring commitments, early retired, or any other reason).
