This fully funded Women Returners Employment Programme will support 20 eligible individuals through a bespoke 'work ready' training programme designed to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, experience, and confidence to begin a new career within a range of key sectors in the Mid Ulster district including manufacturing, engineering, agri-food, construction, retail, hospitality, health and social care, and digital/ICT.
Participants must:

Be female;
-
Have a verifiable address within the Mid Ulster District Council and;
-
be unemployed/long term unemployed, under-employed or at risk of redundancy and reside in Mid Ulster; or
-
economically inactive for any reason (e.g. due to long term ill-health or disability, caring commitments, early retired, or any other reason).

Be of working age.
Personal Development and Opportunities:
All participants will be assigned a dedicated Programme Mentor who will work with them to reach their full potential through:

Identifying your individual barriers to employment through diagnostic assessment and skills check;

Producing a tailored action plan to placement or employment – addressing your educational, training, motivational and confidence building needs and,
-
Putting support measures in place such as workshop participation, identification of external support agencies and better off calculations.

Developing a CV;

Preparing for job interviews.
All participants are guaranteed a job interview with a local company with the relevant vacancies and if needed, can avail of additional light touch mentoring for up to 6 months post-employment!

This fully funded Women Returners Programme will support 20 local businesses through a bespoke programme designed to improve their understanding of flexible work policies, to raise awareness of the benefits of tapping into an under-utilised and capable labour pool, and to support these companies through an employability programme that will result in a number of suitable job opportunities being identified.
Programme Overview:
A dedicated mentor will:

Support employers in the creation of job opportunities that are innovative in approach to address skills shortages through adaptation to make jobs more accessible;

Address employer knowledge gaps & misperceptions about the benefits of implementing flexible work policies;

Inform employers and participants on the availability and eligibility criteria for existing upskilling/reskilling programmes;

Work with the employers to match the right roles to the right potential candidates;

Support the employers through the recruitment process to ensure all employers successfully recruit and fill their vacant positions.
All participating employers can also avail of additional light touch mentoring and support for up to 6 months post-employment!
