The Environmental Health Service will, on request, sample private water supplies and provide advice where necessary.

Sampling takes place of public swimming pool water to ensure compliance with national quality and safety standards.  Councils are not responsible for the supply of water and sewerage services. This is the responsibility of Northern Ireland Water (formerly known as the Water Service).
