Overview
The people of Cookstown are invited to help shape the future of their town as part of an exciting new initiative that will explore how Cookstown can be improved for everyone who lives, works, visits and invests here.
The Cookstown Place Shaping Plan is being developed by Mid Ulster District Council, in partnership with the Department for Communities and the Cookstown Town Forum, which is acting as the project steering group.
The aim of the Place Shaping Plan is to improve the social, economic and environmental well being of Cookstown that will outline a vision for the town, and set out a tangible, achievable roadmap of actions up to 2040.
Studio idir and Starling Start have been appointed to develop the plan which is part funded by Mid Ulster District Council and the Department for Communities.
Why your views matter
The plan is in its early development phase, and we would love to hear from you. Can you tell us what makes Cookstown special and what would make it even better?
We’d be grateful if you could complete this short online survey (which will only take five minutes) – and help shape the future of Cookstown. Please share it with others too.
Once we’ve gathered all the feedback and developed a draft plan, it will go out for formal public consultation in Autumn 2025.
What happens next
The online survey is open now and will close on Friday, 20 June 2025.
Your feedback will help shape the draft Cookstown Place Shaping Plan. We will listen carefully to what you tell us and share how your input has influenced the final version.
Delivery of individual actions in the Plan will depend on funding and available resources.
