Chair calls on residents to show support for NHS
Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin Kearney has called on residents to show their support for the NHS by taking part in tonight's Clap For Our Carers round of applause at 8pm.
"Tonight, Thursday 2 April, we all have another opportunity to come together as a district and as a united community to show our immense support and gratitude to the NHS and to recognise and give thanks to those heroes who continue to work so selflessly and tirelessly on the frontline.
I know personally of the huge effort and dedication being put in by doctors, nurses, midwives and all medical staff at this time as they battle the Covid-19 pandemic, with little regard for their own safety as they put the health, safety and lives of others first and before their own!
"I ask that you all join me at 8pm this evening to #ClapForOurCarers, making our appreciation for our NHS workers actually heard and not just expressed. Our applause will speak volumes and hopefully give them the motivation they need to keep carrying out the remarkable and inspirational jobs they are doing every day."
