The Summer Bash activities organised by Mid Ulster District Council in partnership with the local community, Newell Stores and Keep ‘Er Lit Running Club, will provide an evening of family entertainment in the lead up to, during and after the annual Newell 10K and 5K run.
During the evening visitors, runners and supporters will enjoy a host of free activities, including; face painting, garden games, balloon modelling, mini golf, arts and crafts and character walkabouts. There will also be live music from Coalisland Silver Band and popular local band the Crafty Crows.
Chair of the Council, Councillor Martin Kearney said:
“This is only the second year of the Coalisland Summer Bash event and I have no doubt it will build on the success of last year’s inaugural event and be a fantastic evening for the town and the local community. The renowned Newell 10K and 5K already brings a huge crowd to the town so running this free family event alongside it will only enhance and add to the excitement of the evening.
“Coalisland is a really community focused town and this event demonstrates once more the great partnership working between the local community and the Council. I’d like to thank and congratulate Keep ‘Er Lit Running Club and Newell Stores for organising such a popular, inclusive and family-friendly event which continues to grow and draw massive crowds to the town every year.”
The 10K run will be sent off at 7.30pm followed by the 5K at 7.45pm.
Registration will take place on the night from 5pm at the Parochial Centre or you can avail of a pre-registration day at Newell Stores, Coalisland on Saturday 22 June.
