New Look Leisure Centre Reopens Dungannon Leisure Centre has reopened this weekend, revealing its new look to the public. The works represent a significant investment in Dungannon and in leisure by Mid Ulster District Council, giving a welcome boost to the quality of leisure facilities which customers will experience and enjoy in the newly revitalised centre. The centre’s swimming pools, fitness suite, changing facilities and reception area all have benefited from upgrades. Renovations to the pool include new tiling, pool linings, surrounds, plant, filters and structural work, while the gym has been refurbished and fitted out with a completely new range of modern fitness equipment. The centre’s squash court has also been revamped. Additional lighting and car parking spaces have been installed at the front of the Centre. Coupled with the renovations are new class and swimming programmes and extended weekend opening hours, with the Centre now open earlier from 8am – 4.30pm on a Saturday and 9am – 4pm on a Sunday. Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin Kearney has welcomed the reopening of the Centre, saying, “We are delighted that Dungannon Leisure Centre is reopening after its extended closure for essential structural and refurbishment work. We know that the Dungannon public have been waiting very patiently for the reopening, and we hope that in revitalising the Centre, users have the opportunity for not only an improved experience but gain motivation to become more active, more often in the new surroundings.” For more information on the refurbishment and forthcoming activities in the Centre, customers can visit www.midulstercouncil.org/leisure or the Centre’s Facebook page, @dungannonLC.
