Chair Welcomes Short Back And Sides As Barbers And Hairdressers Re-Open
The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council was among hundreds of local people who were welcomed back by their barbers and hairdressers today (23 April), as restrictions eased.
Speaking at a local barber’s in Cookstown, Councillor Cathal Mallaghan, Chair of the Council, said:
If anyone is ever going to really appreciate a hair-cut or a beauty treatment, it’s now, when our close contact services are re-opening after several long months.
This is the first of several steps which will see businesses across our towns and villages turning their closed signs to open and welcoming back their customers.
These sectors have been among the hardest hit by the pandemic over the past year and now that they are able to open I believe their owners and staff deserve to be applauded for their resilience and rewarded for their skill and service through our custom and support.
I look forward to seeing life returning to our town and villages in the weeks ahead.
