Council Facilities Achieve Top International Health and Safety Standard

A number of Mid Ulster District Council facilities have recently been awarded the ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management standard.

The accreditation recognises a high health and safety standard at each site following an external audit, which includes processes, procedures, manuals and an in depth   audit of the sites.

Council facilities to achieve the ISO 45001 standard so far include, Greenvale Leisure Centre, Seamus Heaney Homeplace, Drumcoo Recycling centre, the wood workshops in Dungannon and Magherafelt and the metal workshop in Dungannon.

Chair of the Council’s Environment Committee, Councillor Wesley Brown recognised this achievement saying,

The achievement of this health and safety standard demonstrates the Council’s dedication to provide a safe environment for our staff working on site, and the public when visiting these facilities. I’d like to congratulate everyone involved in reaching this standard, and hope to see many more of our facilities achieve the same in the near future.
