Families Go Wild at Maghera Walled Garden
Lots of little ones got to ‘Go Wild’ at Maghera Walled Garden on Saturday 25 June, at an afternoon of free family fun, exploring the garden with our wilderness training experts, Penelope Parks and Elliott Evergreen.
Organised by Mid Ulster District Council, the theme of this year’s event at the Maghera Walled Garden was Go Wild. Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Córa Corry attended the event and had a go at many of the activities on offer with our young residents.
Throughout the event, children got the opportunity to train as a wildlife explorer through sports workshops, enjoy interactive games, join the Jitterbug Jive through dance workshops, meet creepy crawlies and cool critters, plant their own sunflower seed to take home and watch grow, get messy with sensory play, solve puzzles with fun and games in the garden and have their faces painted.
The weather couldn’t put a dampener on this wild event, with a great afternoon had by all in attendance.
