Chair and Deputy Chair celebrate Volunteers across Mid Ulster
On Monday 30 May, the Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Paul McLean and Deputy Chair, Councillor Christine McFlynn, held two receptions at the Burnavon Theatre, Cookstown, to recognise some of the fantastic volunteers and community groups in Mid Ulster, most fittingly ahead of Volunteer Week which kicks off on the 1st June.
The first event celebrated the many magnificent volunteers we have operating in the district, specifically those working in the elderly and health and well-being sectors.
The second event recognised the work of four groups and individuals from across the district for their unwavering commitment to volunteering, music and community relations. These were, Lissan House, Dungannon Choral Society, The Hub Cookstown and Philomena Begley, who celebrates 60 years in country music this year.
The Chair, Councillor Paul McLean and Deputy Chair, Councillor Christine McFlynn, thanked everyone for their hard work and selfless contribution to our local communities at both events, and enjoyed a buffet with those in attendance.
