Welcome For £429K Funding To Support Towns And Villages

The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Cathal Mallaghan, has welcomed £429K funding to support the economic recovery of town centres and villages, announced today (Monday 27 July) by the Communities and Rural Affairs Ministers:
“Vibrant town centres and villages are so important for the fabric of our local communities, as well as the local economy, so this funding is critical to supporting businesses as they resume trading and adapt to a new trading environment which prioritises the safety of their customers and staff.
“With this funding now confirmed, we will shortly be opening a grants programme which will allow commercial premises to undertake work, from adding awnings and creating outdoor seating areas to modifying buildings internally to aid social distancing.
“I have no doubt businesses in Mid Ulster will continue to demonstrate their enterprising spirit and flair for innovative solutions when they’re applying for support”.
