The purpose of the Statement of Community Involvement is to set out policy for involving and engaging with the community in the production of the new Mid Ulster Local Development Plan (LDP) 2030, in the consideration of planning applications and in planning enforcement.
It is required to ensure compliance with the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and the Planning (Statement of Community Involvement) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015. It describes who, how and when the community will be invited to participate in the different stages of the Local Development Plan formulation, the determination of planning applications, in planning enforcement and a range of other planning matters.
Becoming a LDP Consultee
We invite local community groups and voluntary organisations to contact us to be
included as a consultee in the preparation of our LDP.
We're currently updating our Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) which sets out how the Planning Department engages and consults with stakeholders in exercising its planning functions including the preparation of our Local Development Plan 2030.
The current SCI includes a list of community and voluntary organisations who the Planning Department consult with during the Local Development Plan process. These organisations have already ‘opted in’ and given consent for the Council to hold their details in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
