Mid Ulster District Council Chair’s Thoughts And Prayers With Families As First Anniversary Of Greenvale Tragedy Approaches

The Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Martin Kearney, has said his ‘thoughts and prayers’ are with the families of the three young people who lost their lives in the Greenvale tragedy, as the first anniversary approaches:
“As St Patrick’s Day approaches, there can be few people whose thoughts will not be turning to the same day, a year ago, and the tragic loss of three young lives. For the families of Conor, Lauren and Morgan, coping with such a terrible and shocking loss has been a daily struggle, and they have lived through many ‘firsts’ without their precious children, brothers, sister, grandchildren, cousins, nephews and niece – first summers, first Christmases, first birthdays, and now the first anniversary.
“I can but imagine how difficult and painful the day will be and my thoughts and prayers, and those of the people of Mid Ulster and beyond, are with them.
“The events of that terrible night have also impacted deeply on other young people who were there, their families and the emergency services, and we think of them too, together with the school and sporting communities which continue to feel the loss so keenly”.
