New Chair and Vice Chair elected for Coalisland Town Centre Forum
The new Chair and Vice Chair of Coalisland Town Centre Forum were elected at the group’s Annual General Meeting this week.
Councillor Niamh Doris was elected as Chair and Brian O’Neill, Manager, Coalisland Credit Union, was elected as Vice Chair for the incoming year at the meeting.
The forum, which has a membership drawn from the private, public, community and voluntary sectors, is now Coalisland’s umbrella body for the coordination and support of town centre regeneration projects including a £3.3M public realm scheme, business development programmes and helping the town recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Newly appointed Chair of the Forum, Councillor Niamh Doris, said:
This year has been an extremely challenging year for us all, particularly our small businesses, however, the people of Coalisland are resilient and through working together we have better days ahead of us. The town has been transformed as a result of the multi-million-pound investment into the public realm scheme. This has created additional parking spaces, improved accessibility and has greatly enhanced Coalisland.
Brian O’Neill, newly appointed Vice Chair of the Forum, added:
“I am delighted to be elected Vice Chair of the Forum, which is at the forefront of delivering important socio-economic projects for the Town. We have all had a difficult year with the COVID-19 Pandemic so it is even more important for all sectors within our community to work together to ensure Coalisland recovers to once again become the vibrant town it is famed for.”
