Mid Ulster District Council launches new Summer Activities Programme

01 July 2016

Kids across Mid Ulster can now be signed up for an active summer with the release of a new programme of sports and summer schemes running throughout July and August.

The 2016 programme was launched by the Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson at Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Cookstown. Organised by the Council and featuring more than 70 separate activities across the summer months, the programme includes a range of sports and activities tailored for children and children and adults with disabilities, as well as leisure-centre schemes where kids can enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, along with arts and crafts.

Swimming, tennis, golf, canoeing, sailing, soccer, Gaelic games, athletics, rugby, dance, golf and gymnastics, are all on offer in venues across Mid Ulster, including Cookstown, Dungannon, Maghera, Magherafelt, Ballyronan, Moneymore and Tobermore.

Chair of the Council, Councillor Trevor Wilson commented, “The 2016 Summer Activities Programme offers a wide range of activities across the district that are guaranteed to keep children entertained and active during the summer months. As places are limited for some of the schemes I would urge anyone interested to book now to make sure that they don’t miss out.”
