A new ‘magical kingdom’ formed the centrepiece of Dungannon’s Christmas celebrations 2016.
Ranfurly House, at the heart of the town centre, was gateway to a festive kingdom last weekend (25 – 27 November), where it became home for Santa’s elves and a host of Christmas workshops, while the viewing tower on the Hill of the O’Neill was transformed into Santa’s grotto.
The dome on the hill became a space dedicated to children - ‘Little World’ – and was filled with traditional fun fair rides and activities, street performers, face painters, and more than 30 stalls filled with crafts, food and Christmas gift ideas formed the Christmas fair.
Throughout the weekend, children were spoilt for choice with Christmas arts and crafts activities in Ranfurly House, as well as story-telling, Christmas sing-alongs and film screenings of Frozen and the Polar Express.
Topped off with the naughty but lively pirates Cook and Line from Cbeebies’ ‘Swashbuckle’ TV show and Santa arriving in his reindeer-drawn sleigh, the Christmas tree lights were turned on to the crowd’s delight on Friday night.
A fantastic firework display on the Hill was then enjoyed by everyone on Saturday evening.
