Local Community Pharmacists recently attended an event in the Glenavon House Hotel organised by Mid Ulster District Council.
The ‘Making Links to Lighten the Load’ event, provided an opportunity for pharmacists and their staff to find out, what is happening in their local community and offered support and advice on how to develop links with local services. The presentations highlighted local initiatives and gave practical examples of how pharmacies can engage with these services.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Sharon McAleer, said,
“We hope that everyone here will now have a better understanding of the initiatives that are available within the local community. This in turn could ‘lighten’ the workload of pharmacists and their staff, as well as benefitting their customers.”
Roberta Tasker, Pharmacy Lead at Mid Ulster Integrated Care Partnership also commented,
‘We hope this will be the first of many engagement events.”
Mid Ulster District Council organised this event in partnership with the Northern and Southern Health and Social Care Trusts, the Integrated Care Partnerships, supported by the Public Health Agency and facilitated by the Community Development Health Network.
