‘The best Eagles tribute band in the world’ will headline a free concert in Dungannon this month, supported by Louis Walsh’s latest boy band.
‘Ultimate Eagles’ who have performed to over 200,000 fans worldwide, clocking up 4 million YouTube hits along the way, are seasoned professionals, who have performed alongside the likes of Queen, Joe Cocker, Paul Young, Roger Daltrey, Lulu, Bonnie Tyler and Tom Jones.
The rock group will be supported by ‘HomeTown’ the most recent act to be created by former X Factor judge, Louis Walsh in the free concert on Saturday 22 August in Railway Park.
HomeTown's first single ‘Where I Belong’ went straight to number one in Ireland, becoming the fastest selling single from a debut act and the fastest selling single from an Irish artist in 2014.
The event, organised by Mid Ulster District Council, is part of a series of celebrations to mark the end of a £7M investment project being funded under the European Peace III Shared Spaces Programme, which is delivering a new 6.9km path linking key recreational spaces in the town, including Railway Park.
The Park will also be home to a new community centre currently under construction, while the Hill of the O’Neill is benefiting from a new viewing tower and event space which will hold up to 300 people.
Councillor Linda Dillon, Chair of the Council, said:
“This is a fantastic line-up and sure to be one of the best open air events ever to be held in Dungannon. And it’s all free. We’re delighted to be welcoming bands of this calibre and I’m looking forward to a great night and to welcoming hundreds of people to enjoy some spectacular entertainment”.
Vice Chair, Councillor Kim Ashton, said:
“There can’t be many better ways to celebrate the end of a project which has been all about opening up and linking public spaces in Dungannon, than a music concert in one of the parks which has been part of the scheme. This promises to be a very memorable evening for the town”.
Rail Fest takes place on Saturday 22 August from 5pm to 10pm, with live music from 7pm. Free tickets (limited to 8 per person) are available from Ranfurly Arts & Visitor Centre, Tel: 028 8772 8600, E: firstname.lastname@example.org.
