Kilronan School, Magherafelt recently staged a fantastic musical production of “The Wizard of Oz”.
Through a project supported by Mid Ulster District Council, musical experts from RiChmusic and musicians from Live Music Now worked with senior pupils and staff at Kilronan School in order to rehearse and stage a musical production.
The Deputy Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Mark Glasgow was delighted to attend the musical and commented on the project:
“I’m thrilled that the Council is able to support a project like this one through the Culture and Arts programme. It encourages pupils of all abilities to take part in something new, learn new skills, enjoy the arts and builds confidence. Congratulations must go out to the pupils and teachers who put on a fantastic show!”
Facilitators RiChmusic also commented on the project:
“RiChmusic was delighted to work again with the young people and staff of Kilronan School. The enthusiasm of the cast and the commitment of the staff and Principal was inspiring. We were very pleased to join forces with Live Music Now to introduce three very talented young musicians to the school and to working with children in Special Education. We’d like to thank Mid Ulster District Council for making this possible.”
Finally, Principal Allison Millar commented on Kilronan School’s experience:
"This was a fabulous learning opportunity for all of our senior pupils. We really enjoyed working with RiCH Music and the musicians from Live Music Now who are extremely talented and enthusiastic. Obviously the highlight of the project was putting on the performances for families and local schools.”
