Thousands of visitors converged on Cookstown over the weekend to sample the 2015 continental market.
More than 40 international traders were joined by local stall holders for the 3 day event which brought the food and flavours, sights and sounds from around the world to the town centre, along with free on-street entertainment.
Organised by Mid Ulster District Council, in partnership with Cookstown Town Centre Forum, the event forms part of Market Place Europe’s spring tour and built on the success of last year’s event, as Chair of the Council, Councillor Linda Dillon, explained:
“An international market of this standard is the perfect complement to the existing quality town shopping experience on offer in Cookstown. The return of the market was eagerly awaited and it did not disappoint. We had a great selection of produce and products from around the globe and great crowds out to enjoy the atmosphere and food on offer”.
Market Place Markets Manager, Matthew Hartwell stated:
“Our traders were delighted to return to Cookstown this year for another successful market. The friendliness of the people of Cookstown and hospitality given has been second to none. We hope everyone enjoyed the three day market as much as we did’
The continental market took place from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 May.
